Article on Amanda in Guinn's book states that Aaron came to CA with his parents in 1852 and was reared and educated there. He followed farming all his life and at the time of the article owned 320 acres near Lindsay, upon which he was engaged in general farming. States they had 5 children, only 2 of which attained maturity and Amanda was the only surviving at that time.
Obit says he died at the home of his daughter, Miss A.O. Swanson and was 77 years of age. Came to CA in 1851, arriving in Placer County in August. In 1852 he mined for gold in Eldorado County and in 1854 moved to Visalia. About 35 years before his death, he moved to a ranch near Lindsay. He had been in poor health for about 9 years and during part of that time made his home at his daughter's ranch. Miss A.O. Swanson is the only daughter surviving. One sister, Mrs. Duncan, lives at Springville and two brothers reside in the vicinity of Visalia. Interment to be made at the Tulare Cemetery.
Obit says he was born in LaSalle Co., IL. Anna Salierno has Granville, Putnam Co., IL. Obit gives date of birth as 22 Dec 1837. See note with father re bible information. 1839 fits better with census information. Jean Laws has him born Granville, Putnam Co., IL.
Aaron recorded his Mark in Book B page 98 of Tulare County Brands. No date shown.
