Death
Rebeccka Landis' death is listed as before 3 May 1809. According to Emmert Bittinger, it seems likely that it was well before 1809 as Mardy Bear remarried in 1788, and possible had a marriage between 1768 and 1788. The logic: First, 10 Rebeccka Landis is listed with seven children in the Lancaster Courthouse Deeds G-5-431 (1827) and H-5-218 (1827), although the family Bible lists nine children; second, child number 8 and 9 would have been born when Rebeccka was 48 and 60 years old, and third, Martin remarried in 1788 but there is nor record of a divorce from Rebeccka. It seems more likely that Rebeccka died between 1768 and 1772, that is after her seventh child but before Martin's eighth child.Endnotes
