Jacob Hiestand Senior

Jacob Hiestand, Sr. landed in Philadelphia aboard the Friendship of Bristol on 16 October 1727, along with his brother, Johannes. Jacob signed the Declaration of Loyalty 1 April 1728, but never completed the process to become a British citizen. The Hiestand family originated from Richterswil and Wadenswil on the southeastern shore of Lake Zurich.
