Elisabeth had been thought to a "Hershey," and to be the Elisabeth Hershey who married the Jacob Hiestand who was born in 1701 and died in 1772.
Now, Allan Garber, in an email to me, has corrected the ties. This Elisabeth, maiden surname unknown, did marry Jacob Hiestand (1701-1772). But a different Elisabeth, maiden surname Hershey, who died after 1773, married the above Jacob's son, also named Jacob. Previously, this son's wife's name was unknown.
So, Jacob Hiestand, Sr. (1701-1772) married an Elisabeth (died 1788--and she also married Hans Neukommet), while Jacob Hiestand, Jr., who died before 1773, married the Elisabeth Herschi/Hershey, who died after 1773.
