Hans Neukommet came to America in 1717, and settled in Conestoga, Pennsylvania. Hans signed the Declaration of Loyalty on 1 April 1728, as "Hanss Neukommet," but did not complete the process to become a naturalized British citizen.
He and my ancestor, Peter Neukommet, immigrated at the same time (1717), are only ten years apart in likely birthdate and both settled in Lancaster area. They may be be brothers, or cousins, but I cannot verify any relationship.
However, there was a Hans (born around 1675), with a brother Peter (born around 1680) , in Hinten, Eggiwil, Bern, Switzerland. Still, I cannot prove they are the same.
