Individual Details

The Hiestand family originated from Richterswil and Wadenswil in Switzerland near Lake Zurich. By 1665, though, the family had moved to Friedelsheim in Germany, and in 1693 two Hiestand brothers and their families left the Palatinate for Friedrichstadt in Schleswig-Holstein: Hans Heindrich Hiestand and Pastor Hanss Jacob Hiestand. Johannes and Jacob Hiestand, that came to America in 1727, are probably the sons of either Hans Heindrich or Hanss Jacob.
