Funeral services for Clifford Leroy "Dutch" Heyen, 40, were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Goettsch Funeral home. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello. The Rev. Harvey Gilbertson officiated.
Military honors were presented by the Monticello Drill Team.
Mr. Heyen died Thursday at John McDonald hospital after an illness of several weeks. He was born at Langworthy Nov. 23, 1930, the son of Clarence E. and Lois E Soper Heyen.
He served in the United States Army after graduation from Monticello high school in 1948 and was the operator of Hi-Way Inn, Langworthy, the past 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy First Heyen, who he married May 2, 1964; a son, Rick, at home; a son, John, and a daughter, Barbara, of Minneapolis, Minn; and two step-daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Donna) Chapman and Mrs. Donald (Connie) Luensman, both of Hopkinton.
Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Lois Heyen of Langworthy; a brother, Robert of Joliet, Ill.; and two sisters, Mrs. James (Dorothy) Reed of Reserve, N.M. and Mrs. Donald (Phyllis) Husmann of Langworth.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Casketbearers were Dale Hart, Charles Hart, Robert Soper, John Stutt, Irvin Himebaugh, Richard Himebaugh, George Miner and Warren Brokaw.
