Life LegacyDorothy Heyen age 75 of Monticello, died Thursday, January 03, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 1:30 Saturday afternoon, January 5, 2002 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 Friday at the Goettsch Funeral Home. Rev. Eugene Schipper will officiate at the services.Surviving are 3 children, Donna (Stewart) Himes, Springville, Connie Dzaboff, Branson, Missouri, Robert Rick (Jeannie) Heyen, Frederick, Maryland, a step daughter, Barbara Behrend, Delano, Minnesota, 2 sisters, Jean (George) Miner, Dubuque, Susan Brokaw, Kimberling City, Missouri, 4 brothers, Marvin (Hazel) Himebaugh, Cedar Falls, Irvin (Starla) Himebaugh, Independence, Gordon Himebaugh, Bogalusa, Louisiana, Richard (Helene) Himebaugh, Crystal Lake, Ill. 11 grandchildren, 4 step-Grandchildren, 11 great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her husbands, Junior and Dutch and a sister, Ida and a step-son John Heyen. Dorothy Himebaugh was born December 10, 1926 at Scotch Grove, Iowa. She was the daughter of Irvin Carl and Hannah Rink, Himebaugh. She received her education in the Monticello Community Schools graduating with the class of 1943. Dorothy worked during the War Years in a munitions plant in Rockford, Illinois. Dorothy and Junior First were married July 20, 1946 at Monticello, Iowa. Dorothy was employed at Collins Radio. Junior died March 24, 1961. Dorothy worked at Club 151 at Langworthy and also at the R & W Truck Stop in Monticello for many years. Dorothy and Clifford Dutch Heyen were married May 2, 1964 at Galena, Illinois. The couple operated Club 151 in Langworthy until Dutchs death October 28, 1971. Dorothy was an avid Hawkeye, Cubs and Bears Fan.
