Mr. and Mrs Chris Eiben were the victims of a surprise party last Sunday. That day marked the twentieth anniversary of their marriage. There were more than fifty guests present who brought well-filled baskets. Rev. S. M. Ide, pastor of St. Matthew's Lutheran church, delivered a short congratulatory address. Miss Freda Eiben, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eiben, who is taking a business course at Waverly, was home for the day.

Eiben Reunion At City Park Sunday
Seventy-five people attended the third annual Eiben reunion which was held at the city park, Monticello, Sept. 1. The committee in charge were Mr. and Mrs. Chris Eiben. Those who attended included: Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Eiben, Wymore, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Velmer Morris and son, Donald, Beatrice, Neb.; Edwin Eiben, Omaha, Neb.

Chris Eibens Observe 40th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Eiben celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Thursday, October 10, at their home in Monticello. Guests present presented them with gifts and flowers. Pinochle was played at six tables with the high score going to Garriet Juilfs and Mrs. Gerd Otten, and the low score to Theodore Becker and Mrs. Charles Cords. Mrs. Garriet Juilfs also won the traveling prize.
Refreshments were served at the close of the afternoon. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Eiben's daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cords of Elkader, and Mr. and Mrs. Garriet Juilfs' and Mr. and and Mrs. Theodore Becker, Wyoming.
Mr. and Mrs. Eiben have been residents of Monticello since they moved to town in 1914.
