Linda Long's GEDCOM had John born in Ireland, but that doesn't make a lot of sense to me if his morther was bon in the Pennsylvania, his father in Germany, and his eldest brother in Virginia. I wonder if he was really born in Maryland and it got mis-transcribed as Ireland. I think that also happened with Michael Pinkley (Elizabeth Reel's husband). See the notes for Michael.
