Jesse was born in Wisondin but moved with family to Winona and then moved to North Dakota with his family.
He married Sarah Sadie Jessie Chester at the Presbyterian parsonage. Some newspaper accounts say he were married on 7 August 1888 to Safie Chester and the other says 30th Aug to Jessie Chester.
He died 22 Feb 1894 in Johnstown, Grand Forks of Typhoid Fever. He is buried in Nisbet Cemetery, Mallory, Polk, MN
