Birth
Possibly Bandon, County Cork, Ireland; or Vermont====
All census records say Ireland but her homestead application says Vermont. Perhaps she couldn't get the land if she wasn't a US citizen.
Death
Catherine Barrett Salisbury obituary 1887 10 07 Grand Forks NDSalisbury - On Wednesday, Oct 5, 1887, in town of Milan, county of Grand Forks, and territory of Dakota, Mrs Catherine Salisbury, in the 64th year of age. The funeral will occur this afternoon, and interment will be in the Marais cemetery, near Mallory, Minn.
Mrs Salisbury was the mother of Richard Barrett. Another daughter Mrs. Biesanz, of Winona, Minn, and five sons survive her. She had been ill for some weeks, and her death was not unexpected. She was a devout Methodist, a truly good Christian woman, and a kind mother.
===================================
Her son John says she died Oct 7, 1887 in his completion of the homestead application.
