George was born on Wyocena, WI In 1870 at age 20 he is in Wilson Twp, Winona, MN. He is there in 1875 also. In 1878 he arrived in Gilby, Grand Forks, ND. He is homesteading three miles north of Gilby.
In 1860 he is in Gentilly, Polk, MN next to his sister Ellen Salisbury Barrett. In 1885 he is back in Nd and the Grand Forks Herald mentions in the Johnstown Jottings that George proved his claim. He painted his barn, buys a Percheron stallion,comes to town with his brother Fred, etc. There are many references between 1885-1890.
He died 1 July 1913 in Grand Forks and burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, Grand Forks, ND
