Notes
Miscellaneous
Isaac Bailey (b. 1812), Singleton Bailey (b. 1810), and William E. Bailey (b. 1814) could be the brothers of Thomas Bailey, b. 1818 (son of William Edward and Ciety Bailey.)These families had several intersections in marriage and residence. Isaac and Singleton settled in Butler County, Alabama, while Thomas stayed in Georgia with his parents (William E. also stayed in Georgia until moving to Cherokee County, Texas,) but Isaac and his family, Singleton's wife and children, Thomas and his children, and William E. and his family all migrated to Cherokee County, Texas.
Thomas Bailey was the first to come to Texas and settled in Angelina County before moving to Cherokee County. William E. Bailey came about the same time as Thomas and settled in Cherokee County. Isaac's son John Thomas Bailey came next and settled directly in Cherokee County, perhaps because Thomas and William E. (his uncles?) lived there. Isaac Bailey followed his son John Thomas to Cherokee County, perhaps also to join his brothers Thomas and William E. Bailey.
John Thomas Bailey married his first cousin, Celie Carolyn Bailey daughter of Singleton Bailey.
John Thomas Bailey's daughter Rosa Carmelia married Henry Stephen Bailey, son of Thomas Jefferson Bailey and grandson of Thomas Bailey. If this possible lineage for Isaac Bailey is correct, Rosa and Henry Stephen Bailey were second cousins.
John Thomas Bailey's daughter Carrie Callie married Henry "Chin" Bailey son of William E. and Indiana Bailey, possibly her first cousin.
John Thomas Bailey and his daughters seemed to follow the practice of cousins marrying cousins, making the possibility of Isaac Bailey being a son of William Edward and Ciety Bailey likely.
