Article from "Ozarks Mountaineer" states that George Douglas Haden was born at Elkton in Todd County, KY.
Came to MO in the winter of 1839 or early 1840 with his parents, his grandmother, and two aunts and uncle.
In 1850, George D. Haden, age 15, was listed as living with his aunt Elizabeth and Dr. John Farmer in St. Francois Co MO - but he was also listed with his parents in Greene Co.
Land patents in Greene Co MO dated 1 Jun 1859; two patents for 40 acres each. Cash Entry.

Enumerated next to his parents.
G. D. Haden was enrolled as a Private in Co. C, 72 Regt, E.M.M.[Missouri Militia] under Capt Johnson,
April 30, 1864, at Ozark, MO. Ordered in to active service 25 Sep 1864 by Gen. Holland and relieved from duty 14 Nov 1864. 50 days in actual service.
Buried Spring Creek Cemetery.
"There was an Angel band in Heaven that wasn't complete, so God took our loving Father to fill the seat. Son of E. A. & R. P. - Husband of Tempa - married 1872."
