I came across your site. My husband's Great Grandfather was William
Blake Haden, son of George Douglas Haden.
He married Anna Belle Cowan. He died in 1909 in Mexico. He had 2 kids,
Walter C. Haden and Ella Nettie Haden.
I have been in touch with Ella's daughter in law and found the he may
have dropped off the "y" at the end of his middle name because he was
mad at his father.
My husband is the Grandson of Walter C. Haden.

William Haden was a partner in a gold mine in Durango, Mexico.  While working the mine in Mexico, he joined a posse to go after bandits thought to be led by Pancho Villa.  His family never saw him again, but a friend of the family later told his wife he had seen a picture of some bodies shot by the bandits, and William's body was one of them.  Ella, his daughter, later told me she was about nine years old when her father died, but she wasn't sure.
