Walter was also counted with his family in New York in 1920.

1930 Census. Boston, Suffolk Co, MA. On the Coast Guard Destroyer U.S. Jouett. Person #43. These men had the designation "head of household" or "son" which apparently meant a commanding officer and those under him or even indicating sleeping quarters.
Walter C. Haden, age 33. Gave same birth places as in 1920. He was still a Cook, but now in the Coast Guard.

I found son Arnold, age 11, in Ramapo, Rockland Co NY. He was living at the Kingston School in Spring Valley. He was listed as born in New York, father born in Texas, mother born in Canada. The school was listed as an institution and the previous entry in this census was for the County Home. Kingston may have been an orphanage.

for Children; Kingston School". It is Enumeration District number 44-41 and
is in Rockland County, New York.


Walter's first wife's surname is unknown. He married 2nd to Marina Kidd and they also had one son: James Robert Haden, b. 7 Oct 1946 in San Bernandino, CA; he died 10 Jul 1991, Indian Springs, Nevada.

Was just browsing your site and noticed that you had a date of death wrong for James Robert Haden, son of Walter C. Haden
James died on July 10, 1991, not the 20th. I have confirmed this date with the powers that be in Indian Springs, NV.
Also his son died last year, My Brother in Law, - James August Haden 08/26/68 Los Angeles, CA - 11/03/09, He passed away in San Jacinto, Riverside County CA and was cremated. He had 4 children.
He died of a massive seizure that was caused my a Traumatic Brain injury he suffered when he got hit by a car in 2003.

Walter's son Arnold died 27 Aug 1976 in Novato, Marin, California, United States of America. Turns out Arnold had gotten married to a woman named Sybil A. They had two children together, Marsha Haden and Glenn Haden.  I have been in touch with Marsha, who told me her Grandmother's Maiden name was Bessie "Beatrice" Mabel Stuart, she passed away 8 Sep 1938 in New York. I also found their wedding license they were married 14 Nov 1914 in Kings County, NY, it was Found on the Italian Genealogical Groups website Certificate # 15231 Soundex H350
