John Davidson

From Goodspeed: McDonald County "Biographical Appendix" p.107. John Davidson was born in Perry County Tenn. on Feb 23 1849 [this is an error- he was eight years old in 1850] and is a son of Levi Davidson, deceased. John Davidson came to McDonald County Mo. in 1853. During the late war he served in the Confederate army, as a member of Company D, Col. Smith's regiment, and participated in the battles of Prairie Grove, Pea Ridge, Helena, Prairie de Hand, Marks Mill, Poison Springs, and others. His wife was Sarah Brown, a daughter of Murphy Brown (deceased). They were married in December 1867, and are the parents of ten children, viz.: Fannie J., Ozro, Josephine, Alonzo, Monroe, Rosco, Oscar, Mollie and Myrtle (twins) and Lola. Mr. Davidson is a farmer and stock raiser, and is the owner of 173 acres of land, upon which he has a good home. He is a member of the Farmers' Alliance and Masonic Order.

Dryden Public Administrator of the Estate of Alvoree Davidson Deceased, the sun of sixty dollars and one cent it being the distributive shear of John Davidson minor heir of the Esstate of Levi Davidson Dec said amount being found by the court in the hands of said dec Alvoree Davidson and afterwards went into the hands of the said David. A. Dryden as Public Administrator of Christian County having in charge said estate this the day and year above written. John Davidson
