PHEBE LEETE
( - Bef 1642)
"Settlers of the Beekman Patent" lists wife of George Parkhurst as Susanna, but that was his second wife. That she was a Leete is proven. Her sister Ruth Leete Dalton left a legacy to her niece Phebe Arnold.
Nine children of George & Phebe were baptized at Ipswich.
George Parkhurst Increasings for Nine Generations in Two Volumes, Vol I
by Peter G. Parkhurst, Los Altos Hills, CA, 1995
Phebe was the youngest of seven children. Her sister Ruth was the wife of Rev. Timothy Dalton, Rector of Woolverstone, 5 miles from Ipswich, England. Timonthy Dalton and Ruth Leete were married 13 Jun 1615, Gislingham, Suffolk, England. Ruth died in New Hampshire in 1666, and left legacies to six Parkhurst children of her sister, Phebe, suggesting that Phebe's children Samuel, John & Abigail had died young.
