John Hopkins of Parish of St. James Northam, love and affection to my children: Henry Hopkins, George Washington, James & William Hopkins, Molley, Betsey Pettes & Ann Sparks Hopkins, do grant to each of them: Slaves, to be divided and proportioned among them …support of my loving wife Mary Hopkins. 1000 acres of land whereon I now live to be equally divided between my sons James & William at the death of their mother. After death of wife, all personal property to be divided equally among children John Hopkins Jr, Henry, George Washington, James & William Hopkins, Molley, Betsey Pettis, & Ann Sparks Hopkins.
