When Audry was three months old, her family moved to Star Valley. Brothers Melvin, Sterling and sisters Ruby and Thelma were born after this move. Audry lived in Star Valley her entire life with the exception of a short time that she lived in Evanston, Wyoming and Grace Idaho.
At an early age Audry taught herself to read music and could soon play by ear any tune that hit her fancy. Audry attended schools in Afton but quit school after the 10th grade to stay home and take care of her mother who was very ill and also her younger sister.
When Audry was 15 she developed juvenile arthritis and they put her arm in a cast. When the cast was removed her arm had a trophted. The doctor said they only thing that saved her from losing the arm was that even though she had on, she had continued playing the piano just using her fingers.
In November of 1935 she went to a dance in Grover and met Boyd Lainhart. He was in Star Valley with the CC camp and had come from Kentucky. Mom and Dad were married in Paris, Idaho on July 31, 1959
Boyd and Audry had a large family of twelve children Vada, Viola, Vatia, Deland, MaryAnn, Genevieve, Sherman, Dorthy, Larry Laura and Amanda Ellen.

On July 28m, 1958 their son Boyd R. was hit by a car in front of their home as he was crossing the road. His life was taken in this accident.
In 2000, Mother's oldest living daughter, Vola May, passed away after experiencing a brain aneurysm.
Mother never felt it was right that she outlived her children. In June of 1988 Boyd, Audry's husband, was diagnosed with cancer. He passed away in April 1989.
