Joseph Thomas Haden & wife are buried in the cemetery on Highway 80 in LaPlace. The stone, an obelisk, is broken with the spire on the ground. It is engraved on three sides. One side has large letters "HADEN" and a Bible verse, unreadable. The reference might be John 13:3 - it's very hard to tell. Joseph Thomas, Son of Joseph and Rebecca Haden, Born September 5, 1818, Died April 24, 1877. Elizabeth, Daughter of Geo. B. & Susan Fos?? Oldfield, Wife of Joseph T. Haden, Born September 23, 1829, Died January 29, 1908. Daughter Susan and her husband Jesse Thompson are buried nearby as was son William T. Haden, and daughter Capitola. In another cemetery, behind the Presbyterian Church, which seemed to be the "Boyd" Cemetery based on the number of Boyd graves, I found Robert Abercrombie Haden, born April 9, 1869 and died February 19, 1928, with his wife Lillian Boyd Haden, born August 5, 1872, died March 5, 1960. Robert, son of Joseph T. & Elizabeth was in the 1880 census as an eleven year old, this would seem to be that Robert.
