p.21 18 Feb 1795 Finis Ewing & Peggy, his wife sell 400 acres to Peter Deardorf, part of a tract left to Mary Ewing and Finis Ewing by Robert Ewing, dec'd.
January County Court 1804: Rev. Finis Ewing was allowed License for the purpose of celebrating marriages in Logan County.
Finis Ewing is said to have been one of the founders of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
They moved to Christian Co (now Todd) about 1811/1812 and lived at Ewingsville post office. In May of 1820, they left for Missouri, settling in Cooper Co. He established a Ewingsville post office again.

I nominate for reappointment the following land officers, whose commissions will expire at the dates respectively affixed to their names:
Finis Ewing to be register of the land office for the district of lands subject to sale at Lexington, in the State of Missouri, from the 25th of May 1838.
