Edwin M. Ashley
A Pomona man died yesterday in Long Beach presumably from a heart attack. Edwin M. Ashley, 77 was born in Emporia, Kansas, June 5, 1880. He had resided in Kansas City , Kansas, before moving to Los Angeles in 1921 and to Pomona in 1950. A Painter-decorator, he was a member of the AFL Painters Local 797. Survivors are the widow, Mrs Ruth N. Ashley, Pomona; four sons, Fred, Bell Gardens, Preston of Downey, Richard of Los Angeles, and David, Palmdale; four daughters, Mrs Mark Willsey ,Twin Peaks, Mrs T.R. Fife, San Jose, Mrs Camille Bronson, Pomona,and Mrs W.L Bristow,Covina; 14 grandchildren,and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Gippie R. Blackman Mortuary at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Eldon HIll of HIghland Park Christian Church will officiate. Entombment will be made in Bellevue Mausoleum.
