( - )

Both a Philip and a Charles Thomas left tracks in Henry Co - yet Philip appears to have left his Will in Halifax Co in 1803.

10 Apr 1781 HISTORY OF PATRICK & HENRY COUNTIES VIRGINIA; Virginia G. &Lewis G. Pedigo, 1933.  “Henry Co Commonwealth’s Grants or Patents:  Book D, #295, p.928.  William Perkins; 492 acres.  On Poplar Camp Creek, adjoining Charles Thomas.

The will of Jacob Thomas, son of the patriarch William, was written 2 May 1803 - the witnesses were Asa Thomas, Charles Thomas, and Peyton Thomas.  Asa and Peyton were definitely Jacob's brothers.  Looks like Charles had come over to Pittsylvania Co to witness the will.  Charles & Peyton proved the will, 26 Jun 1803.  Jacob Thomas married Hannah Farley ....from Halifax Co - and after his early death, she went back to Halifax Co to live.
