The 1900 census indicated Mattie had been married about 1891 and she had one child - she was living with her parents and no surname was indicated for Mattie. However, a granddaughter, Totty Learner, age 8, was also in the household, presumably Mattie's child.
From FamilySearch Family Tree: Mattie was married to her first cousin Ulysses Aaron Learner, 1891, by who she had a daughter. They divorced before 1900 (see his notes). She married Ira P. Heaton, 15 Nov 1903 in Fayetteville, Washington Co, AR.

HEATON: Died in San Bernardino, Calif. August 18, 1953, Ira Heaton, 110 East Avenue C, Yucaipa, Calif, aged 74 years, native of Arkansas and resident of Ycaipa for four years.
Deceased is survived by one aunt, Mrs. Josie Murphy of Pico, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Emmerson's Yucaipa Chapel. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Emmerson's Yucaipa Mortuary in charge.
