The 1900 census indicated Ulysses had married about 1891, but he was back home living with his parents and no wife was evident.

There is a marriage, Ft. Smith, Sebastian Co, AR for Ulysses to Ella Morton, 2 Feb 1894.

Married on 2 Jan 1908, Waverly, Bremer Co Iowa, to Nina Bell Cooper, A. H. Jarvis made affadavit. Ulysses was 43 and stated it was his first marriage; lived in Des Moines, occupation "traveler". Ulysses's parents listed as Seth W. Beal and Sarah E. "Adams". Nina lived in Waterloo, was 42, also her first marriage. Nina was the daughter of John Cooper, and Lydia Pinkney. R. H. Jarvis, & J. E. Smith, witnesses; married by O. H. Mitchel, Justice of the Peace.

Nina was b. 20 Jun 1865, Cambridge, Henry Co, IL, died 3 Mar 1954, Fontana, San Bernardino Co CA. Apparently both had been married previously.
FamilySearch shows Nina as having been Nina Bell NEWMAN, daughter of John Newman and Lydia Pinkney. She was married to Sampson Cooper in 1882.

1940 - Still in San Bernardino, renting at 523 H Street. Grant Beals, age 75, Nina, wife, 74.
