Rosanna Haden

(Abt 1805 - Abt 1826)

Rosanna isn't named in any document with other members of the family. However there is a marriage in Rowan Co, 18 Mar 1823 - Rosanna Haden to Meshack Pinkston. Meshack Pinkston did figure in the deeds of distribution of Jesse Haden's property. Since her name is Rosanna, sister Elizabeth also married a Pinkston, and the date seems right, I do believe she belongs in this family.

Rosanna may have died young, as there is a another marriage for a Meshack Pinkston, 7 Jul 1852, Rowan Co NC, to Euphimea Brown. And there seems to have been in interim wife as well - see Margaret in the 1850 census.
Online databases say that Meshack married Margaret Roberts, 17 Jan 1827 in Davidson Co. They list two children for Meshack and Rosanna - Jesse F. Pinkston and Mary L. Pinkston who is said to have married Alexander F. Smith.

1850 Census. Northern Div., Davidson Co, NC. Hh 385
Meshack Pinckston, 50, Farmer

The 1850 Slave Schedule for Davidson Co shows Meshack Pinkston with some 29 slaves, age 60 to infants a year or two old.

The 1860 census shows Meshack's wife to be Margaret - I don't believe the marriage to Euphemia Brown is his marriage.

I also found an even earlier marriage for Meshack Pinkston - in 1793 - possibly there were two, or even three, successive Meshacks living in Rowan Co.
