Individual Details
Elizabeth Buster
(Abt 1751 - 1814)
Elizabeth was a sister to William Buster who married Mary Byrd. See his notes for more information about their parents.
It is believed that Elizabeth and her 11 children and their families and slaves (Elizabeth freed them) left TN to plant cotton in the TN Valley area of the Mississippi Territory, which would become Alabama in 1819. Richard's will, dated and signed 5 March 1803, in Hawkins Co., TN, mentions eldest sons: William, John, David, two daughters: Jane McDaniel, and Ann Day and two younger sons: Michael and Richard, as well as four younger children: Elizabeth Byrd, Mary Byrd, James Byrd and Charles Byrd, who were still minors. He mentions wife, Elizabeth. Many of the children lived and died in Alabama which had been part of VA and later became part of the Tennessee Valley and Mississippi Territories, before becoming the state of Alabama in 1819.
