Individual Details
Gainum C. McBee
(1799 - )
This is the first proven use of the given name Gainum I've found in the family - I believe it was most likely a name passed down in the Cox family.
He was given the home place and the McBee Ferry after the death of his mother, as specified in his father's will.
Bills were introducted, 1831, in the Tennessee state legislature including the following:
On motion of Mr. Mabry, the House took up: a bill to autorize Gainum C. McBee to build a Bridge across Holston River, at McBee's ferry on said river.
Tennessee Land Grants, Vol. II, Sistler.
Grants issued to G. C., Gameran, Ganum, and Garmon C. McBee in Knox Co, Eastern District. I would think all of these to be this man.
