Field Jefferson

Field moved from Chesterfield Co to Lunenburg, the part that became Mecklenburg Co. He was active in the Cumberland Parish, serving as a vestryman from 1749 to 1757; he was also church warden. The minutes of the vestry also refer to the Jefferson Ferry.
After the death of Mary Frances, Field married as his second wife, Mary Hunt Allen and there is a "prenuptial" agreement with her in the Lunenburg Deeds, dated 1 Nov 1753.
Field Jefferson's will, Mecklenburg Co VA, was dated 8 Jun 1762 and proved 10 Jun 1765. The following heirs were named: Thomas, Peter Field, George, John, Mary Nichols, Judith, and Phebe, children. Mary Dabney, Susanna & Williams Nicholls were named as grandchildren. Mary Burton named as Godchild. His wife Mary received a gold ring.
