Retired Master Sergeant Francis"Gene" Russell, 88 of Van Buren passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 at his home.
He was owner/operator of Gene's Auto World in Van Buren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dora Russell; his parents, Edward and Mary (Shaw) Russell; a grandson, Devon Russell.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 26, 2022 at U.S. National Cemetery Pavilion in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. The family will visit with relatives and friends Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Julie (Barnes) Russell of the home; two daughters, Cornelia Spillman of Royse City, Texas, Charity Townsend of Muldrow; four sons, Michael Russell of Elkins, Arkansas, Jacob Sirratt of West Fork, Joel Sirratt of Coffee Springs, Alabama, Richard Sirratt of Uniontown; a brother, Wallace Russell of Fort Smith; fifteen grandchildren, Matthew, Robert, Landon, Brooklyn, Johnathan, Israel, Moxi, Naiya, Gage, Nova, Katelynd, Bonnie, Elliott, Kammi, Little Joel; two nieces, Ginger and Sarah.

Son Norman Wallace Russell, b. 26 Mar 1938 in Van Buren, died 26 Nov 2022, Fort Smith Sebastian Co, AR. Buried Fort Smith National Cemetery. Served in the Army, Vietnam.

Norman Wallace Russell, 84, of Fort Smith passed away on Saturday November 26, 2022 in his home.
He was born on March 26, 1938 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Edward and Mary (Shaw) Russell.
He was a medical technologist at St. Edwards Hospital, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Wallace was an avid golfer and member of Deer Trails Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes; two daughters, Dr. Ginger Rome (Rob) of Houston, TX and Sophia Le (Qui) of Rogers, AR; four grandchildren, Sophia and Ella Rome and Trey and Ty Le.
Memorial Funeral Mass will be 1:00 PM Thursday December 1, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial with military honors in U.S. National Cemetery.
Rosary services will 6:00 PM Wednesday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Preston Williams, J.W. Holmes, Carter Kimbrough, David and Richard Arters and Michael Russell.
