Mrs. Frances Amanda Shaw died 12 Sep 1968 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Van Buren, of Leukemia. Her residence was 417 1/2 N. 10th St. She was born 30 Jun 1888 in Van Buren. Surviving spouse was W. N. Shaw. Father was Alexander M. Duncan - mother was Jimmie Amanda Shaw. The informant was Earl shaw, 307 S 13th, Van Buren. Buried Woods Family Cemetery, Van Buren on Sep 14th.

Mrs. Frances A. Shaw, 80 years old of 417 1/2 North 10 street, Van Buren, died Thursday, Sept. 12 in a local hospital following a long illness. Born June 30, 1888 in the Figure Five community, she was the daughter of Alec M. and Jimmie Amanda Rozell Duncan and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are her husband, W. N. Shaw; three sons, James A., Earl and Marvin all of Van Buren; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Russell, Mrs. Hazel Winstead, Mrs. Mable Richmond and Mrs. Lucy Richmond all of Van Buren; a sister, Mrs. Susan Mainard of Patterson, Calif.; 24 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at the Van Buren Church of Christ at 2 p.m. Saturday with the pastor, Lindsey Patterson officiating. Burial in Woods cemetery, which is a family cemetery on route 2, Van Buren, was directed by Ocker Funeral Home.
Casket bearers were Joe Samples, Wayne Samples, John Hyde, John Samples, Carl Sullivan and Walter Thompson.
Within thirty-six hours the Shaw family had a death, a birth and a wedding. The death, Mrs. Frances Shaw; the birth, a son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gene Winstead, 1201 Murta and the wedding, Miss Frances Shaw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Shaw was married.
