A WorldConnect file, now part of Ancestry, gave a birth for Pleasant McBee as 12 Apr 1806. However, the family Bible, probably entered by his father, states that he was born on Monday, February 27, 1809 - that seems the most likely based on his census age in 1850.

Although Pleasant's name was written in with the marriage records of some of his siblings - no record follows.

Pleasant McBee married Nancy Kelly about 1832. I believe he still lived with his father in 1830 & 1840 as he doesn't appear in a census in Claiborne Co until 1850.

In 1852, James H. McBee wrote his brother Calvin, expressing dismay at the incarceration of their brother Pleasant McBee in Claiborne Co jail for stealing. The letter suggests this was not the first of Pleasant's misdeeds.

Indexed as Pleasant "Mcbed" in 1860. He was in Subdivision 10, Claiborne Co TN, Hh 1356. He was age 51, a farmer, b. TN. Nancy was age 46.
