Online database has Peter as the son of James Alexander, b. 23 Aug 1762 in Scotland, died 11 May 1852, Belmont Co, OH. Peter's mother was Isabella Ross. They are also both buried Scotch Ridge Cemetery. Isabella died 5 May 1845 in her 78th year.
James was in turn the son of James Alexander, b. 1733, d. 1817, and buried Scotch Ridge, Belmont Co, Ohio. He married Margaret Wilson circa 1757 in Scotland. James married a second time, 29 Dec 1767 to Margaret Clark, also still in Scotland. Margaret Clark Alexander is said to be the first person buried in the Scotch Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery. She died 18 Jul 1809, age 66.
