A deed dated 13 Sep 1792 was signed by William Powers and Elizabeth Whitaker his wife as heirs of James Johnson. William Powers was alloted part of the estate of James Johnson on 25 Dec 1793. William Powers, son-in-law, was said to have received his share from James Johnson's estate when Sarah Johnson wrote her will and she left him nothing additional.
