Joseph was left two slaves in his father's will, in 1771. In Pittsylvania Co Account Book 1, p.4-6, Benjamin Terry's Inventory, these slaves can not be brought in for the inventory because they are in the possession of Joseph Terry in South Carolina. Although many people have the Joseph Terry who married Judith Crawford as the son of Benjamin, this is not possible as proved by the above. [Margie Brown]
