Some of the records listed as being those of the elder James Terry who died 1744, must be those of this James, or could even be a grandson given the dates. He is said to have "moved to Orange Co NC" in 1757. This is possible, but not consistent with the records found in Virginia, unless he moved back.

A James Terry was one of the justices of the peace when Halifax Co was created from Lunenburg in 1752.
In 1764 [Halifax DB, citation not given] James Terry sold to the vestrymen of Antrim Parish, 794 acres on Sandy Creek where he formerly lived, for a Glebe for the Parish. One of the vestrymen was Nathaniel Terry. James Terry also appears in a list of Vestrymen of Antrim Parish, date not given.
