William LeeRoy Pippin

William was in Siskiyou Co CA by Apr 1857 when he executed power of attorney to his brother Amos to represent him in the settlement of their father's estate. The document states that Lewis died 18 Jan 1856.
William's occupation in 1880 is given as miner.
He didn't return to Tennessee until he was almost 70. The Liberty Herald of Putnam Co TN, on 15 Jul 1898, reprinted the following: "Leroy Pippin of California will visit in a few days relatives in Putnam County. He has been absent from this section nearly 50 years."
William had a son William Leroy Pippin, Jr. born Apr 1871 in Siskiyou County, CA. His mother was Indian.
