Individual Details
Nancy FOX
(Abt 1751 - Bef Feb 1777)
Nancy Fox was named in the will of Richard Fox as his daughter. After her brother Isham died, all the siblings sold his inherited land in three deeds - two recorded in Mecklenburg Couty, one in Bute (which became Warren) In the first, which was to a William Davis, no Nancy is named. In the second deed to Edward Davis, William Davis is listed both as selling the land and as a devisee of Richard Fox as he had purchased the rights of Samuel Jones & wife Mary (formerly Fox).
Nancy Fox may have had some sort of disability, or she simply may have been the youngest. The will of Richard Fox does leave two slaves and livestock to be in the hands of his wife and then to John & Amy Kendrick after her death to be used for the benefit of Nancy. The will does state that after the death of his wife, Nancy is to be in the care of John & Amy Kendrick. Richard also stated that his wife's lifetime estate was to be equally divided among the children except for Nancy who he did not allot any part.
