E. Starnes, Capt. Laurens 1810, p.19 2m 10-16, 2m 16-26; 1m 26-45 [since he's still in this age category he was likely born between 1765-1774]

DB F/92 11 Nov 1793 Ebenezer Starns rec'd his full legacy from Anna Starnes, Executrix of Ebenezer Starnes Dec'd. He will make no claims on lands of Jno Starns. Proved 18 Feb 1796.
DB F, p.166 13 Feb 1797 Ebenezer Starnes & wife Mary to Aaron Starnes. 114 acres on west side Long Lick Crk of Reedy River bounded on Roger Murphy, Ann Starnes. Original granted to Ebenezer Starnes Senr. Wit: Rachel Tumblin, Roger Murphy, Ste. C. Wood.

Charles Patten shared a family sheet of information on Ebenezer to include the following. He apparently appears sometimes as Capt or Col Starnes. The wife was Mary Ann "Polly" Marshall, no proof. He had at least seven children, names not all known. Son Joel Starns, b. 1791, d. 13 Sep 1878, married Anne Brock on 1 Mar 1811. Shubal Starns, b. 1793, married Nancy Cunningham. Abram Marshall Starns, b. 1795, d. 30 May 1870, married Martha Hudgens on 27 Dec 1809. Shubal is said to have stood in for Joel in the War of 1812, so Joel could be at home with his family. Joel is said to be in the 1850 DeKalb Co GA census. One of the daughters was Martha and one was Malinda - one of them said to have married a Golding. In 1850, the widow Mary Starnes was still living in Laurens, age 88, and with her was Lucinda Golding age 30, no doubt a granddaughter.

1820 Census, Laurens.
