Achilles Moorman

Elizabeth Adams' father wrote his will, 22 Feb 1738 & gave daughter Eliza Moorman 400 acres on Mychunk Creek.

In 1782, John Murray as executor of James Murray, sold to Achilles & Charles Moorman, 3030 acres, both sides of Seneca Creek [Campbell Co VA] which had been granted to James Murray, late of Prince Edward Co. Except for 200 acres which was conveyed to Andrew Moorman.

In 1791 Andrew devised his land, beginning both sides of the creek and extending to Venable's line till it intersected with Jesse Moorman's line, to wife Judith. To his son Achilles, he devised a tract of land on Rough Creek. He proved for the sale of land called Carver's and an entry called Poe's.



Will probated at Dec 1785 Cambell Co VA Court; Dated 25 May 1783. This will names four sons - Charles, Andrew, William & Jesse, doesn't identify any daughter, though Mary Allegree receives money in the will. Wife Elizabeth is named and to have the home plantation for life. Executors were Charles, William & Andrew. p.74, Campbell Co VA WB 1
Inventory was recorded on 5 Dec 1785. Appraisors were John W. & Aquilla Gilbert, and Henry Eidson.
If there was a daughter named Judith or Jane that married William Haden, she was deceased some 10 years before the date of this will - if she had a daughter born before her death, Achilles chose to ignore her.
