Charles Moorman

Charles is said to be son of Zachariah Moorman and Mary Candler. Others say that Zachariah's wife is unknown. Zachariah is said to have settled in Nansemond Co with sons Thomas and Charles, and a daughter Sally A.

There are a few very early Moormans noted in the St Peter's Parish Vestry records of New Kent Co VA. Tho. Moorman was listed to procession and remark the bounds of each man's land in 1689. Mary the daughter of Thomas Moreman & Eliz. his wife was baptised 29 Aug 1686 and Andrew, son to Tho. Moorman was bapt. the 4th day of Nov 1689.
Will dated 9 May 1755 & probated in Louisa Co VA 24 May 1757, divided slaves and land between his sons: Thomas, Charles, and Achilles. Named wife Elizabeth.
p.8 WB 1, p.35 Charles Moorman. 9 May 1755. Wife Elizabeth and then to sons Thomas, Charles & Archeleus. Charles, both sides Hudson's crk. Son Archeleus plantation where I live. 1sh to dau: Judith wife of John Douglas & Ann wife of Thomas Martin.
