21 Oct 1850 Pittsy CR 41, p.29 Henry A. Muse appointed guardian of Philip Thomas, Orphan of Philip Thomas dec'd, in place of William A. Thomas. Bond of $16,000.
[When did William A., his nephew but who is older, become his Guardian? Philip is just months from reaching age 21.]

There is a Philip Thomas still in Pittsylvania Co Census in 1850 - He was age 20, a Clerk, living with Henry & Elizabeth ?Lukas and family.

Marriage: Philip Thomas, 21 to Mary Ann Dickenson, 18 on 15 Oct 1851. Henry L. Muse, guardian of Philip. father of the bride, Griffith Dickenson. Wit: Joab Oakes & Wm C. Tate, by Rev. Samuel Spotts.

15 May 1868 Philip Thomas to F. A. Swanson and wife Sarah. land both sides Danville & Franklin Turnpike, on headwaters of Sandy River, 225 1/2 acres.
There may also be a deed in DB 49, p.130, dated 19 Nov 1868, from Philip Thomas to William A. Thomas.

1860, Whitmell P.O. in the Southern District of Pittsylvania Co:
Philip Thomas age 29, Farmer, $9000 Real Estate Value, $25,000 Personal Property [the Slave Schedule shows a total of 34 slaves]. Mary age 26. Flora A. 8 and Griffeth 7, both attending school. William A. 5, Ann E. 2, and a "Babe" age 5 months.

1870, 3rd Ward, City of Atlanta, Fulton Co GA.
Philip Thomas age 39, carpenter, born in Virgina. Annie age 12, Lelia age 10, Philip 6 and Roser 3 [male child].

Phillip probably died before the 1880 census. I believe I found two of his children in Kansas.
I may have found young Phillip in the 1880 Census living with his married sister Flora. Sedgwick, Harvey Co, Kansas, Hh 46.
