Grainger Co TN marriage records: Thomas Walters to Nancy Walters on 3 Dec 1821. John "Waters", bondsman - probably her father or her brother.

Thomas and Nancy are said to have had no children. They were 1st cousins once removed.

1830 Grainger Co TN. 1m 20-30, 1f 20-30

Both this Thomas, born about 1801 and his cousin Thomas Spiers Walters, born about 1804, were in Grainger Co in 1830. They would appear in the census as the same age. In 1840 only one Thomas Walters remained - presumably Thomas Spiers who was still in Grainger Co in 1850 - because his wife was Sarah. The ages of the children in 1840 & 1850 are also fairly compatible.

The only other Thomas Walters/Waters found in Tennessee in 1840 was in Henry County. This is his data. Thomas Walters, 1m -5, 1m 5-10, 1m 10-15, 1m age 30-40 [same age as the two Thomases of Grainger] 1f -5, 1f 5-10, 1f 20-30. He would seem to be the same as a Thomas Waters found in Henry Co in 1830: 1m -5, 1m 20-30, 1f 15-20. The Henry Co Thomas would be a son of Abraham or William Walters.

I do believe I found Nancy living with her brother Joel in Clay Co KY in 1850. She was age 47, born in VA.
