Araminta was given a plantation by her father and that was where William P. & Araminta lived. Her Will was written 12 Apr 1883. Item 1: Plantation I live on shall be a home and used for the support of my husband Wm P. Thomas and daughter Martha A. Howerton during the life of said Wm. P. and my sister Sarah E. Walters shall also have the right to live in said house during the life of said Wm. P. Item 2: At death of said Wm P Thomas, I give the said house with 10 acres of land around it exclusive of the graveyard to my said daughter Martha A. Howerton as her separate estate. Item 3: At the death of Wm P. Thomas I give to my son Allen M. Thomas 30 acres of the tract I now live on; the rest to be sold and the proceeds divided equally between my children A.M. Thomas, J. L. Thomas, C.T. Thomas, Sarah E. Tanner, Araminta J. Dillard, Pocahontas A. Gravely and Emily W. Gravely. 4. To dau Mary A.V. Dillard $5. Signed: Araminta Thomas. Wit: Wm E. Clark, J. G. Denny.
17 Feb 1890. Will of Araminta Thomas was proved by oath of William E. Clark. On motion of the heirs, the estate was committed to W. J. Overbey, sheriff, for administration. Heirs listed were J.L. Thomas, C.T.T. Thomas, A.M. Thomas, Araminta Dillard and Jos. F. Dillard her husband, Mary A.V. Dillard and Keney J. Dillard her husband, Martha A. Howerton and Joseph T. Howerton her husband. Pocahontas A. Gravely and George W. Gravely her husband. P. T. Gravely, W. G. Gravely Jr., Lucy V. Gravely and Jos. A. Gravely, the last two being infants represented by their next friend W. G. Gravely, who are the children of E. W. Gravely who was a daughter of the Testatrix and sd W. G. Gravely in his own right, and W. P. Thomas the husband.
