Creed Tanner, father, gave permission for Sarah to marry Joseph Motley.
I suspect the birth years of the younger children are off. Sarah R. Motley, age 66, was in the 1850 Pittsylvania Co census. There were no younger children living with her, so I believe they were all grown by this time. Sarah E. Walters, age 36 was in her household - this would appear to be her daughter. At the top of the next page and numbered as a separate household was Jordan L. Motley, 28.
