Nicholas married on 31 Dec 1760, Margaret Douglas, daughter of Rev. William Douglas and his first wife Nicholas Hunter.

Wm Douglas, containing by a late survey made by Elliot Lacy, County Surveyor of Goochland 1215 ¼ acres. Branch of Fork Creek in the count line with Col. John Overton and land of Benjamin Mosby's estate, Three chopt road, land Daniel Powers sold James Jinnett & Merideith Parrishes, bing part of Lewis land. Parishes line & James Stanleys, Stanley & Hunters Estate, Thomas Emberson, Prince Tracy's line.

On motion of Tho. Meriwether advise that the Surveyor of this County proceed to run and mark the County line between Abraham Fountaine of this County & Benjamin Crenshaw of Louisa Co and that William Pryor, Joseph Payne & James Howard do attend the Survey.

but this one seems to definitely involve other Thomas Meriwether's not the son of Nicholas and is apparently the same tract - so they both refer to Thomas, son of James....
