Lucy Meriwether
(4 Feb 1752 - 8 Sep 1837)
Lucy married Lt. William Lewis of "Locust Hill". He was her father's 1st cousin. He died shortly after the siege of Yorktown in which he had participated. Lucy remarried shortly, to Capt. John Marks. She had two children by John Marks: Dr. John Marks who died unmarried and Mary Garland Marks, born 8 May 1788 who married William Moore.
The Marks emigrated to Georgia and Capt Marks died there in Oglethorpe Co. Daughter Mary and her husband remained in Georgia but Mrs. Marks returned to Locust Hill, home of Meriwether who had inherited it under primogeniture when his father died.
