Of Cambridge and Hartford. He became a freeman, 1 Apr 1633, and is found in the early New Town, later Cambridge, records.

Fisher & is now settled on Thom: Spenser whereof he hath sold to Willm Spenser & now remaineth one acre abutting the Sentinal Hill on the South, Robt Dayes on the East, Willm Kelsyes land on the North & Rich: Churches land on the West

His will was dated 9 Sep 1686, proved 26 Oct 1687. He left to his eldest son Obadiah, his house and land in Hartford; all lands both meadow and upland on west & east side of the Connecticut River in Hartford, he paying certain legacies to son Thomas; to son Samuel having received a good portion from his uncle, all wearing apparel; to son Jarrad shop & tools which are in his hands; residue to five daughters, Sarah, Elizabeth, Hannah, Mary & Martha to be equally divided between them by their brother Jarrad. Son Obadiah to be executor; Capt. Allyn, Lt. Caleb Standly and cousin Samuel Spencer, overseers.

Obadiah, Thomas and Samuel were children of Thomas Spencer's first wife. Sarah, Elizabeth, Jared, Hannah, Mary, and Martha were children of the second wife Sarah Bearding.

Thomas has a memorial marker in the Old Center Cemetery, Suffield, Hartford, CT. There is a large family monument, listing four generations. He is more likely buried at the Ancient Burying Ground, Hartford.
From 1640 until the 1800s it was Hartford's only graveyard. 6000 people are believed to have been buried there. there are about 415 stones still standing and they are no longer legible. There is a larger monument to the founders of Hartford - Thomas's name is included.
